about the artist

Born and raised on a multi-generational family farm in rural Nebraska, Taylor Lynn Wiens earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree with a minor in Graphic Design from Doane University. She continued her education through the Doane Graduate Program, completing coursework in Art Education and earning a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. Taylor is currently completing her Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics at Fort Hays State University.

Inspired by agriculture, rural landscapes, and generational memory, Taylor creates ceramic work that blends ceramics, printmaking, and layered surface imagery to explore themes of resilience, time, and place. Her practice spans both functional and sculptural forms and has been exhibited nationally and regionally, including selection for the 2024 NCECA Graduate Student Exhibition.

She is currently an art educator teaching grades 6–12 at Raymond Central Public Schools, serves as an Adjunct Faculty member at Doane University.

Through my art, I seek to honor and preserve the legacy of my family and other farming communities across the Midwest.
